Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision, and finding the right fit is the first step toward meaningful change. My journey into this field is rooted in a belief that our experiences, no matter how difficult, shape us, but they do not have to define us.
My Philosophy
I believe that every person possesses an innate resilience. I don’t see my clients as "broken" or in need of fixing; instead, I see individuals who have developed creative and resourceful ways to survive their circumstances. In our work together, we will honor those survival strategies while gently exploring what no longer serves you, moving toward a life that feels more aligned with your authentic self.
My Approach
Our sessions are a collaborative space where your voice is the most important one in the room. My practice is grounded in a Person-Centered and Mindfulness-based foundation, ensuring you feel seen, heard, and respected. To support your specific goals, I integrate a variety of therapeutic lenses:
Skill-Building: Utilizing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) to provide practical tools for managing daily pressures.
Deep Exploration: Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) to understand your inner world and different parts of your identity.
Re-authoring: Applying Narrative Therapy to help you move beyond old labels and reclaim your personal story.
Lived Experience & Credentials
Originally from Pakistan and a mother of three, I bring both clinical training and lived wisdom to my practice. I understand the intricate balance of navigating cultural expectations, family dynamics, and the unique challenges of different life stages, from the pressures of young adulthood to the reflections of later life.
